本日、2019年度第1回英語検定の二次試験が行われます。そこで３級を受検する人のために、直前(すぎる)対策です。
二次試験は面接官（1人）と英語での会話を行います。「大きな声で・ゆっくり」話すことを心がけましょう。attitude (態度) も採点項目です。愛想を振りまきましょう。

入　室

ノックをして入室　”May I come in?”
挨拶　”Hello” あるいは ”It is nice to see you”
面接官：Can I have your card, please?
受験者：Here you are.
面接官：Please sit down.
受験者：OK. Thank you.

面接官：My name is … . What’s your name, please?
受験者：My name is … .
面接官：Mr. / Ms. … , this is EIKEN Grade 3, OK？
受験者：Yes.

面接官：How are you today?
受験者：I’m fine, thank you.

面接官：OK. Let’s Start the test. This is your card.
受験者：Thank you. (問題カードを受け取ります)
面接官：First, please read the passage silently for 20 seconds.

受験者：20秒間、文章を黙読します。

面接官：All right. Now, please read it aloud.

受験者：文章をタイトルから音読します。ゆっくり大きな声で。

第1問

面接官：(例) Now, I’ll ask you five questions. Please look at the passage. What can people….

受験者：(例) They can learn English and other languages…..

音読した文章の内容に関して質問されます。

試験官が質問する疑問詞 (Why , What, Whereなど ) を注意して聞きましょう。

そして、質問に含まれる主語と動詞をしっかり聞き取ります。

その主語と動詞を含む文を、パッセージの中から見つけます。

該当する文を見つけたら、主語を代名詞に置き換え、動詞を適切な形にして読み上げましょう。

 

第2問

面接官：(例) Please look at the picture. Where is the woman going to put the books?

受験者：(例) She’s going to put them on the table.

イラストの内容について質問されます。

イラストを見ながらでよいので、質問の主語・目的語を代名詞に置き換え、動詞を適切な形で答えます。
Where is the woman going to put the books? と聞かれたら、the woman を she に換え、質問に合わせて is going to do という表現を使って答えることが求められます。
books という複数の物を them という代名詞で受けることも重要です。

第3問

面接官：(例) How many cups are there on the table?

受験者：(例) There are two (cups there) .

イラストの内容について、さらに質問されます。

イラストを見ながらでよいので、単数・複数の表現に注意して答えましょう。

上記の例は複数形ですが、例えば「彼はバッグを1つ持っています」と答える場合は、He has a bag. と a をつけなければいけません。

 

面接官：Now, Mr./Ms. —-, please turn over the card and put it down.

受験者：問題カードを裏返します。

 

第4問

面接官：(例) What do you like to do on weekends?

受験者：(例) I like to play tennis.

受験者自身の意見を尋ねられます。

「問題カード」の話題と関連性のない質問であることが多いので、先入観を持たずに聞き取りましょう。

面接委員の目をしっかり見て、アイコンタクトを取りながら答えることも大事です。

受験者自身の好みや希望を聞かれることが多いので、主語は I になります。

I’m going to …（私は…するつもりです）や、I like to …（私は…することが好きです）I’d [I would] like to …（私は…したいです）などの表現を覚えておきましょう。

…にあたる動詞を原形にすることも忘れないように。

 

第5問

面接官：(例) Have you ever been to a foreign country?

受験者：(例) Yes/No.

面接官：(例:Yes)→ Please tell me more. 　(例:No)→ What country would you like to visit?
受験者：(例:Yes)→I’ve been to America.　(例:No)→ I’d like to go to Mongolia.

さらに、受験者自身の意見を尋ねられます。

まず、Yes. / No. で答える質問がされます。

Yes. / No. で返事をすると、その返事を踏まえて会話が進みます。

例えば、Have you ever been to a foreign country?と聞かれ、Yes. と答えると Please tell me more.（もっと説明してください）と言われるなどです。

Which do you like better, A or B?（AとB、どちらの方がより好きですか）と質問され、その理由を Why? と聞かれることもあります。

疑問詞と動詞に注意して、質問を確実に聞き取るようにしましょう。

面接官： All right. Mr./Ms. —, this is the end of the test.  Could I have the card back, please?
受験者： Here you are. (問題カードを返す)

面接官： Thank you. You may go now.

受験者： Thank you.

面接官： Goodbye. Have a nice day.
受験者： You, too. Goodbye.

(質問) Please look at the picture. How many cups are there on the bench?

(解答例) There are two (cups) (on the bench).

(質問) Please look at the boy wearing glasses. What is he going to do?

(解答例) He’s [He is] going to drink (some) water.

No. 4

(質問) What do you usually do on weekends?

(解答例)  I usually play with my dog in the park.

(質問) What are you going to do this afternoon?

(解答例) I’m going to go shopping.

No. 5

(質問) Are you interested in sports? (Yes, I am.) Please tell me more.

(解答例) I often play tennis with my friends.

(質問) Do you like using computers? (Yes, I do.) Please tell me more.

(解答例) I often play computer games.
