月例の英語で討論会「Monthly Discussion in English」　今日のテーマは「地球温暖化」

 

1. 私の主張

①　地球温暖化がどんな影響を及ぼしているか

Recentry, there has been more and more carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Carbon dioxide has caused  serious worldwide problems  such as global warming.

Several years ago, I got a quiz. It is that what is the most harmful life against human being?

(what 以下の疑問文をthat 節で名詞にできる?)

Answer is mosquitos.

Global temperature rise [rάɪz / 自動詞の意味もあるが、ここでは名詞として使用。他動詞は raise ) makes good environment for mosquitos even northern countries.

 

②　地球温暖化防止への取り組み

Just today when I was taking a bath in a athletic gym, other members are talking about warming winter in this year. They worryed about shortage of water in summer season.
During talking about this issue, they keep opening tap of running water.

(主語を入れてwhile they were talking とした方が良い? )

I recognized thoughts and actions are different things

(「別物」の表現はこれでいい?　Between cabegge and Chinese-cabbage has big difference という表現の方が良い?)

Several days ago, I talked with a British who I met in Gondola at ski ground.

He said wind power generation makes 20% electricity in England.
What  I was moved is that  such a youngman have had a concern about there energy souce.

Maybe the issue of global warming had featued on TV in his country.

I want japanese broadcast to report these issues. I don’t care suspects such as Makihara snd Sawajiri are guilty or not.

(No matter  whether suspects such as Makihara snd Sawajiri are guilty or not.でも可?)

 

③　グレタさんの主張に対する考え

Her opinion is absoulutely right, but i don’t feel symathy for her speech.Her speech is criticism and judgment. I prefer an action to a criticism.

Things She should do is not to abandon studing but studing hard to become a scientist or someone to prevnt global warming.

 

2. 「私の主張」で用いた英単語

•  like　前置詞「〜に似た、〜のような（＝similar）」外見的、心理的など、何か類似を示すもの使う。be動詞, feel, look, smell, taste, soundなどの動詞が前によく置かれる。We have desserts like ice cream and chocolate cake. / アイスクリームやチョコレートケーキのようなデザートがあります。

 

• “such as~” は例を挙げる時、１つの項目について細かく分ける時に使う。We have desserts such as  ice cream and chocolate cake. / アイスクリームやチョコレートケーキなどのデザートがあります。

 

• suchlike　限定用法の形容詞「このような，この種の」We played baseball and suchlike games.  / 我々は野球とかそういったゲームをした

 

• such [ sˈʌtʃ ]　  1.限定用法形容詞 [種類・範囲を表わして] このような　such a person / そんな人　　2. [程度を表わして] これほどの

 

• during は「～の間に」「～の間中」という意味の前置詞なので、その後ろには「名詞」だけが続く。

 

• while は「～する間に」という意味の接続詞なので、基本的には、後ろに「SV構造」が続く。
